Around 1865, Perry W. McAdow was the first recorded "owner" of
this land, though Native Americans had used the entire area for
ages. In 1866, McAdow and partner Thomas Cover constructed the
Gallatin Flour Mill. McAdow also built his private residence here.
The property had largely been abandoned for years prior to 2002
when the Village Downtown Development began. The Village Homes were
the first to be built and occupied. The first Village Loft building
got underway in 2005 and was occupied in late 2006. The Village
Villas and the second Loft were completed in early 2008. Homesites
were platted in early 2008.
